Two local conditions work against a chipped windshield here.

The first is the daily temperature swing. A car parked in direct sun in Kearny Mesa or Mission Valley can put the glass well past 140 degrees, and then the driver gets in and puts the air conditioning on full against the inside surface. • No cure time. The resin cures under UV in minutes. You drive away immediately rather than waiting on adhesive.
• Usually no deductible. Most comprehensive policies cover chip repair at no cost to the driver, because insurers would rather pay for a repair than a replacement later.
• Half an hour. Most single-chip repairs are done in about thirty minutes.

The one honest caveat: repair is a strength and spread fix, not a cosmetic erase. You will usually still see a faint mark where the break was. Anyone promising invisible is overselling.
